Born in Shardlow, and baptised in Shardlow church in 1893
Pupil at Shardlow school from 1899
A railway hotel clerk living with his parents, John and Elizabeth in Rose Cottage, Shardlow.
Killed in action on 8th October 1915 aged 22; buried in Loos, France
 
Charles Webster
Rifleman in the King's Royal Rifle Corps
Born in Lockington
Pupil at Shardlow school from 1897
A brewer's labourer, married to Nellie, and living with parents-in-law and children in Shardlow
Died of wounds on 26th May 1916 aged 26; buried in Shardlow churchyard.
 
Frank James Sanders
Lance Corporal in the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment
Born in Shardlow, and baptised in Shardlow church in 1893
Pupil at Shardlow school from 1900
A house painter living with parents, John and Jessie, on Wilne Lane
Killed in action on the Somme on 1st July 1916 aged 23; no known grave.
